(17,146 posts)when there was a lot of controversy (generated by Republicans, mostly) about college students voting. One segment showed Appalachian State University, where officials had moved the only voting location for students off campus, on a road that was virtually inaccessible unless you had a car (and a lot of students don't). Those are the lengths they will go to to suppress voting.
I don't think Democrats do the same thing. I've never heard of it anyway. Any time there has been a reduction in polling places, in the number of machines, in reduction in early voting days, it has always been done by Republicans.
As soon as the Supreme Court ruled against the Voting Rights Act, North Carolina started doing this shit. Before, they had seek approval for changes and it was almost always denied.
I just can't believe all the people here blaming those who stood in line. "Well, why didn't you early vote or vote by mail?" I dunno why, maybe they forgot, maybe they didn't get the memo.
