Local Restaurants will not serve dungeness crab to the locals at different times of the year but you can always find it at Fisherman's wharf, fed to tourists for that almighty dollar. If they can't get it locally, they will purchase it from Alaska or Vancouver and charge an arm and a leg for it,while others of us, who really like it, have to go without, and allow the local crabs to grow up.

Tourists are what feeds the bay area, even if bay area, has to eat crap. You want to eat great seafood, there is only one place to eat it, and you will pay for it. I am surprised they are not checking ID's yet, and not allowing Californians to eat at Fisherman's warf. You from Ohio? Enjoy, but from Fresno? There's a macDonald's up the street!
