In reply to the discussion: Reid blames Sanders' 'people' for Nevada convention chaos [View all]MADem
(135,425 posts)Don't you think it odd that never was heard a discouraging word at that website about "The Bern?"
How does a state trooper "lock" a public bathroom? With his super-special state trooper key?
And you believe that foolishness? That the state troopers said "Aye aye, ma'am" to a private citizen, running a PRIVATE association (there's no "government" in Democratic Parties, hate to tell you--they're as private as a Moose Lodge or the Shriners)? Get real. It's great that this kind of easily refuted nonsense is pumped out by "helpers," certainly--it's absurd on its face.
If anyone "locked the bathrooms" it would have been the hotel facilities coordinator, because the group had OVERSTAYED their allotted time--they were no longer authorized use of the facilities. But, oh, it sounds SO MUCH BETTER to put a few jackbooted state police in there (instead of the Metropolitan police, who were only called because the Sanders people were behaving so monstrously).
Let's try a dose of truth for a change, shall we?
Jennifer Forkish, a spokeswoman for Caesars Las Vegas, which owns the hotel, said in a statement that the convention "ran four hours past its scheduled end time, forcing the security paid for by event operators to leave their posts as their shifts ended. Without adequate security personnel, and in consultation with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and event organizers, a decision was made that it was in the best interest of everyone in attendance to end the event."

The Sanders delegates--and that's what they were, hand-picked SANDERS delegates--who behaved in boorish fashion disgraced their candidate, disgraced his movement, and likely sounded the loudest, if not the final, death knell to his campaign. If this kind of crap keeps on as Bernie limps in last to the finish line, he won't only not have a "movement" to build in future, he could very well lose his Senate seat. Heckuvajob, Berners!
