(24,391 posts)19. we often drop our ballots into drop boxes at public sites (libraries, elections offices, etc.)
while some do prefer to "mail it in" a week in advance, a lot of us like to take our time, vote over the weekend, and then drop off our ballots by hand.
if there are exit pollsters, they're probably hanging out around the drop boxes. naturally this underreports the "mail it in early" voters, but any early returns should be regarded with extreme skepticism anyway.

I think last election they had exit pollers at some of the drop boxes on election day.
