3. I respect Mitt Romney for this

I do think Mitt Romney cares about the polis and the conditions for sound politics in the United States. I really do believe that. He is appalled by Trump, not because he's "the establishment," but because Trump is a fascist, and Mitt Romney ultimately believes in the soundness of the Republic, and the importance of policy and civil discourse.

You can make fun of Romney all you want here, but he's actually trying to do the right thing, and he's sticking his neck out about it. I think he deserves respect for that. It's far more than most of those sniping at him will likely do.
