There are many people here who have actually been involved in running and campaigning, and in their local parties and clubs. It can get terribly depressing when you knocked on a thousand doors, put up hundreds of signs, shook uncountable hands, and lost.
Those are the tough times I'm talking about, and every one who has actually run for office (yes, I did once) knows them well. running the hardest work you'll ever do, and if you do win, you suddenly realize that you are still running for the next election.
So, pull yourself out of that microcosm of partisan BS and introduce yourself to the outside world.
