In reply to the discussion: Ted Cruz Booed for Failing to Endorse Donald Trump, Says "Vote your conscience" [View all]StevieM
(10,596 posts)68. I don't disagree with the point that you are making, but it looks like this was a little different
than the way that Trump and the GOP are portraying it.
Cruz told Trump in advance that he wouldn't endorse him. Trump told him that he wanted him to come anyway and to speak. Trump's people saw the speech in advance. They knew exactly what was going to happen.
It appears that Trump had his whip organization on the floor of the Convention prompting the delegates to boo him. And it appears that the whole thing was pre-orchestrated and played out exactly the way that Donald intended it to.
If those weren't the details then I would agree with you that Ted should have just stayed home like Kasich did.

Ted Cruz is an ass on the issues, and is an asshole for what he did at the republican convention

Then he should have done what Katich and others did, not endorse, and not attend the Convention,

He may have been on point, but he had no business speaking at a Convention against their nominee

Is that right? Were they aware of Eastwood's insane skit when he gestured a "slit your throat"

You are right, which just demonstrates how inept they are. It is an understatement I think to say
