Scouts find bag of guns while cleaning up [View all]

LEXINGTON — A cleanup project by Lexington Boy Scouts turned up more than just a bagful of trash Sunday night as one Scout pulled a sack of firearms from the pond next to the Dawson County Museum.

The Lexington Police Department responded to a call at 6:54 p.m. Sunday from Troop 88 Scoutmaster Bo Berry. Scout Dakota Wigstone and his father, Mark Wigstone, were part of a cleanup project at the pond. The boys were using a hook attached to a pole to reach the trash around the edge of the pond when Dakota located the bag.

Inside was an assortment of firearms.
