(16,191 posts)Wikileaks publishes what's sent to them. They're a conduit for open, anonymous information sharing and aren't the materials actual source. If you're seeing a lot of anti-Democratic dumps from Wikileaks lately, it's only because anti-Democratic operatives have been working hard lately to discredit the Democratic party and have been using them as a funnel to distribute their material.
On net, Wikileaks has done far more good for the world than bad. They've dumped data on everyone from the Russian government, to corrupt third world governments and have revealed major oil and war scandals embarrassing governments around the planet. If Americans have a skewed view of the organization and consider it to be anti-American, it's only because the shitty American media only reports Wikileaks dumps that bump ratings in the U.S. Were you aware, for example, that Wikileaks revealed a major bribery scandal within the Australian national bank, and how the Australian government tried to cover it up because they decided that their international image was more important than fighting corruption in their own government? Or how about the revelation that there were serious security problems in the United Kingdom's nuclear weapons arsenal that were ignored for years, which weren't resolved until Wikileaks dumped whistleblower data and embarrassed that government into correcting it?
Wikileaks dumps data on nations around the world. If it sometimes seems like they're picking on the U.S., it's only because we've got a lot of dirty laundry that needs to be aired.
