99.999% of the time it means nothing. But that .001% is 9/11. There was something in Touhey's gut that said this Atta guy was bad news. And there was nothing he could articulate to delay Atta, so he waved him on. He still feels guilty that he allowed Atta to go, even though he had no reason to stop him, not in a pre-9/11 world.
The other agent who had contact with Atta that day committed suicide.
"Something is fishy here. I could speak up, risk my job. But if I stay silent, I and everyone aboard this plane could die."
The person you speak up about could be this couple, or they could be Richard Reid. You don't know until after the dust settles. Just hope the dust isn't a cloud of jet fuel and airplane parts.
