Most states like to keep their prisons private (they can profit directly from the inmates' labor, after all). So this is a pretty huge blow.

I don't think our Federal Gov. signed 20 year contracts with 'for profits like many State Govs did.

State "for profit" prisons. part of bush/cheney admin. plans to grab as much taxpayer $ as possible
