You can get on this show one of two ways: by being selected in an "online voting session," or by paying 10 million rubles. The people who make the cut (15 men and 15 women, is what they're hoping for) will be given survival training by Russian special forces veterans then taken, with no more than 220 pounds of supplies and equipment per person, to the Siberian taiga on July 1, 2017, and left there until April 1, 2018. Anyone who survives until the end gets an even share of a 100 million ruble prize. They currently don't get any guns, only knives - but the show's producers are trying to get them permission to hunt, and if that happens they'll probably also get guns. Participants are allowed to form teams. If you get too badly injured or too sick to continue, they'll pull you out - otherwise, you're on your own.

Now...if these guys team up into one group, this is totally doable. Everyone takes 75 pounds of clothing. Everyone takes 75 pounds of food items you can't find out in the taiga - flour, fats, milk powder, things like that. Everyone takes at least a gallon of gasoline. You get a lot of tools, gardening supplies and construction materials like two chainsaws, nails, rope, fishing equipment, standard carpentry tools, etc, and split them up among the group. The instant you get there you start planting cabbages and winter squash, and foraging for other foods.
