Stable meaning, not "crashing".
I suspect it was a case they were waiting for some tests to run and more importantly to say goodbye and control the timing of the event. (Get her death out from the shadow of Christmas as far as practical). No one wants to have the memory of the death of a loved one tied to a major holiday.
I'm sad for the family.

He was so funny RIP only 54 and. Fisher , 60 both heart issue they still had senior years coming !
