(23,156 posts)42. I used to attend Democratic Party meetings in a very Red state, when I lived there.
At the banquets, a point was made to thank the wait staff, and they were tipped. We understood from the wait staff that the Republicans, who also held events at that hotel, didn't tip.

I always regarded the "middle class" as grouped into upper, lower and "middle-middle."
