that this base issue is transparency. If they can't cover their OWN asses on this issue it opens them up to the obvious counter-charge of hypocrisy.

I think most Americana are sick and tired of these bastids profiting from their time in office to the expense of the U.S. taxpayer. These people are SUPPOSED to be representing US but I think even the most ardent partisan out there has got to admit that most legislation does NOT represent our best interests. Payola isn't new and it isn't a secret. Why try to assert that it is? My personal solution for this problem is to call for transparency and no elected official is exempt.

That's pretty much it.
