There wasn't a dimes worth of difference between the Reagan and Bush policies on social/domestic and fiscal policy. And all of the candidates would embrace those same policies all over again, including no progress on deficits. Foreign policy differences are a little more substantial. Reagan had Iran-Contra while Bush had an illegal, optional war with Iraq. Iran-Contra is the lesser of two evils here but that is not why the current crop of Republicans embrace Reagan. Obviously, these Republicans are talking about charm. Reagan had it and Bush didn't. The only problem is that these Republicans are all much closer to Bush in that department than they are to Reagan. lol
