Another point can be made about irrational and disproportionate focus. While we focus on the latest local deaths others get killed that don't get near the attention. Example: what about all the latest dead people in Syria? Does the latest deaths here negate the importance of those dead over there? Sure looks like it to me. What's worse is the disaster economics surrounding the deaths where TV networks make money from ads while a tragedy unfolds ....that is what really is terrible and disgusting.
