In reply to the discussion: Roger Moore, James Bond Star, Dies at 89 [View all]OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)42. not long after my parents split up
mom took me to the movies to see The Man With The Golden Gun.
Just me and her enjoying mindless entertainment. It was the first time in a long while we had a couple hours of peace. No fighting between mom and dad, my little brothers were at the baby-sitter, I got popcorn and Coke.
Pretty soon after that, step-asshole moved in and we never had that peace again.
But I'll always love Roger Moore's James Bond for bringing me that worry-free bubble of time. He'll always be my favorite Bond no matter how much I like all the rest of them (and I do - because that was my first Bond film and I have been hooked on them ever since.)
