6. How Does This Deter North Korea?

Short answer, it doesn't. If anything, it provokes them. How many missiles have they fired since the 2nd carrier was sent into the region so expect that to continue. Then what. How many lines in the sand is Trump going to draw only for them to call his bluff. He can't keep 3 carriers in the region that long. Does Trump even have a plan. So far he has been highly ineffective and looking weak could cause him to do something really stupid - and that is where I think we are headed.
