If you want to do something to change these outcomes, the answer is to get involved in your state to end partisan redistricting.
I'm in Pennsylvania and it's hard to make changes to anything here, let alone the state constitution. Yet we have two bi-partisan companion bills in the state house and senate to end partisan redistricting and establish an independent commission when needed to redraw districts after each Census. The house bill has nearly half the membership as co-sponsors and the senate bill has over 1/4 of members as co-sponsors. Every day more people are getting involved talking to fellow citizens about the need for fairly drawn districts, writing letters to the editor and contacting their reps/sens about supporting the current legislation. It's working!
You can do the same wherever you are, too.
