The fact that his girlfriend gets nothing is why legal marriage is important to many couples and one of the biggest reasons why conservatives are militantly against any legal recognition of gay marriage. And they did the same back in the day with interracial marriage.

Even many judges back in the day admit that no one cares if people love each other, the problem is when one of them dies and the other inherits something "they don't deserve".

I hope Castile's daughter gets some money set aside for college tuition or something.
