The corporations in China are entwined with the government, and those same corporations (thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court) have the power to spend unlimited amounts of money in the U.S. to promote the candidates of their choice, and those ads influence millions of people to vote or not to vote. What we have now is essentially a global buyer's market for U.S. politicians.

Maybe Mitt went too far and the Chinese will support Obama for president now. The election really could hinge on something that simple.
