32. I really hope you didn't think it disappeared

As a "Child of the Sixties," surely you saw plenty of racism. Though you were a child, I'm sure you were at least somewhat familiar with hte jeering, screaming faces of the white people of Little Rock. You heard raucous support for Governor Wallace and Bull Connor. You saw men disgraced for wanting a sandwich, and you saw other children have their skin ripped apart by the fire hoses and dogs.

Tell me you don't think all of that just curled up and died. All those people, young and old? They didn't have a magical epiphany, "oh golly, racism is so wrong!" They just decided to not scream o loud. And like any racist fuck, they passed the hate down to their own kids and grandkids. It's always been there.
