Trump Told a Female Reporter to Be 'Quiet' After She Asked a Question During a Photo Op [View all]

Source: Glamour

On Monday, as Donald Trump posed for a photo with the current class of White House interns, Associated Press reporter Catherine Lucey tried to use the moment as an opportunity to ask the President about his recent comments about Jeff Sessions and the status of the Republican health care bill.

Trump's reply: An eye roll and curt command: Be "quiet."

As the interns laughed in response to Trump's dismissal of the reporter, he turned to them and told them that Lucey "was not supposed to" ask him questions and was "breaking a code."

But as the AP noted, it's not uncommon for reporters to ask the President a question or two during a staged photo op—like a White House intern photo. And typically, the President answers those questions. This, of course, isn't the first time Trump has accosted a female reporter. In 2015, he launched the first in a series of attacks against former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. Numerous NBC newswomen, too, have been the target of Trump's ire, including reporter Katy Tur—who Trump singled out multiple times—and, most recently, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski.
