the insurance companies might give us a breather, and it might give the Dems a chance to soft land this knee-jerk GOP lemming drive to "repeal and replace" the ACA.

Drumpf is going to get his repeal and replace one way or another - under Drumpf, Pence or whomever in the GOP has the immunity idol after the Russia connections have been exposed and prosecuted.
Rich old White Dudes have getting rid of anything Obama as an imperative, and their lobbying efforts are going to have an effect for at least the next three years, even if the Democrats take back the House or the Senate and can start fighting against Democracy Slide.

We just have to be able to pry Wealthcare away from anything Healthcare going forward, and maybe we can end up with a form of Medicare part E or Single payer, or any of the other managed health cost models out there.
I'm sure President Obama won't care if the ACA is replaced by something better for more people; in his position, I certainly wouldn't. And history will still be much kinder to him than to Drumpf and the current GOP crop of creeps.
