3. Good timing. I just called Blue Shield of CA yesterday and asked her to verify the amount.

I will be paying over $500 a month with a high deductible and co-pays and that is with subsidies. It already was 25% of my income and my out of pocket made it 33%. The cost of living here is high and money doesn't go far. The problem is you can afford to shop for cheaper rates when you are healthy, but when you are sick you don't have many choices and all are expensive.
