Might I make a small suggestion?

The war in Afghanistan is not about, well, anything. Bin Laden is dead. Al Qaeda and ISIS have made it clear they don't need a base from which to operate. Afghanistan poses little threat to the US.

Follow the money. It's about the mineral resources. My suggestion. Let the mining companies fund the mercenaries. If they think there's a return, they should be happy to foot the bill.
