As bad as German Nazi escapees were, the über-fascist Croatian Ustaše regime were a close second.

They were particularly sadistic, and in relation to their relatively small numbers committed far more atrocities than the Nazis did.

Like the Nazis, many found refuge in not only Argentina, Chile, and Brazil (which like Croatia are majority-Catholic countries); but also in Southern California - particularly in Orange and northern San Diego counties.
