I believe that you are right. Progressives are delilusional if they think that most Americans are going to suddenly regain their sanity in 2018. The corporate cabal and right wing zealots, with the assistance from their enablers in the media, have successfully brainwashed vast swaths of the population to do their bidding. We're in the final stages of a template that they implemented back in the 1950's and have been effectively executing ever since. If not the 'dark ages", we're certainly at least entering the new "gilded age".
