In reply to the discussion: I Hate Everyone in the White House!: Trump Seethes as Advisers Fear the President Is Unraveling [View all]Grammy23
(6,138 posts)41. tRump is headed for his Captain Queeg moment.
In the Caine Mutiny, Queeg has his episodes of being a jerk. But his men know something is very, very wrong. He is not just a jackass. Finally, their patience wears out and the mutiny happens for the good of the ship and its sailors. Only when Queeg is under the stress of the trial does he fully reveal to the officers how mentally unraveled he is. They watch in horror as his pathology is there for all to see. And then Queeg knows that THEY know.
tRump is on this path. He is coming to understand that his life is no longer his own. He is used to being obeyed, always. Now he is finding severe limits on his behavior. The only place he can feel like himself is Twitter. The lies have to come thick and fast to cover his very obvious moves.
So the pressure builds. It is apparent that he is reaching a breaking point. Whether he quits in a huff or has a very public breakdown/meltdown, followed by Article 25, remain to be seen. But it is coming. That much seems clear. The best we can hope for is that it is soon before he brings us all down with his madness. Signs of mutiny are abundant.

None of this is surprising. Of course he doesn't know what the 25th amendment is. Why would he?

I imagine then, with as weak as tRump is, he would have committed suicide had he lost the GE
