President Trump on Sunday suggested that it is no coincidence that news surrounding the special counsel investigation into Russian election interference has emerged at the same time that Republicans are pushing tax reform on Capitol Hill.

Trump's comment came two days after reports surfaced that a grand jury approved the first charges in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 election.

The indictment is currently sealed and it's not clear who the charges target, or what they include, though they could be unsealed as early as Monday, according to multiple reports.

House Republicans are expected to unveil their tax reform legislation on Wednesday. Trump and congressional Republicans are pushing to pass a series of tax cuts by the end of the year.
