Because women up till now where made out to be at fault. At trial the defense attorney does everything he/she can to show that the woman was a harlot. Now, a few women came forward. Then a few more about another man. That got things rolling. More women are now not afraid to come forward and that will bring more women forward to testify against their attackers.
