I don't think it's mainly due to Trump, though. There has always been a certain racist and socially hard-right element in Poland: some of my Jewish ancestors left Poland in the early 20th century because of all the anti-Semitism. There are of course such elements everywhere: the LePen supporters in France; the Austrian right-wingers; and the horrifyingly right-wing Orban government in Hungary. And of course our very own UKIP types. And I think that Brexit is helping to stir up some of these latent xenophobic attitudes in many parts of Europe, though not as much as Farage would obviously like.
