Donald Trump Jr. mocked outgoing Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) after he announced his resignation on Thursday, invoking the former comedian's "Saturday Night Live" (SNL) character on Twitter.

The tweet after Franken announced his resignation from the Senate after facing pressure from his colleagues amid mounting sexual misconduct allegations.

“I know in my heart that nothing I have done as a senator, nothing, has brought dishonor on this institution, and I am confident that the Ethics Committee would agree. Nevertheless, today I am announcing that in the coming weeks I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate,” Franken said in a speech on the Senate floor. Franken is the latest high-profile male to depart his job amid sexual misconduct allegations.

His Democratic colleague in the House, Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) announced his resignation amid allegations against him on Tuesday.
