This story just infuriates me and it’s not like I’m this huge Al Franken supporter and fan... if the allegations are true, by all means, force him to resign. But it feels like we are letting unsubstantiated blog posts win. News outlets that fear being called the “liberal media” will react harder to democrats without truly looking at the bigger picture.

The other allegations—Weinstein, Cosby, Charlie Rose, Bill O’Reilly, Lauer—all have been exposed thanks to real substantiated journalism. I am a huge supporter of women, but Bannon once said, “As long as democrats play identity politics, republicans win.” Republicans know how to make democrats go crazy—accuse one of their people—but if anyone questions the allegations, call democrats out for hypocrisy and accuse them of not believing women. But realistically, these allegations have not been substantiated and Tweeden, who goes on a happy press tour the day she writes her blog, undermines real victims. She is out there just telling a story that did not prevent her from getting ahead that has not internally wounded her clearly.... it undermines teachers, nurses, waitresses, etcetera who show up to their job and actually truly suffer from forcible sexual misconduct.

I just want the truth.
