If we beat up on each other and force Democrats to resign, this may make us proud of taking a moral high ground...but in terms of the average American who doesn't follow the news with the same gusto that we do.....what they are going to notice is it is a Democrat who had to resign in disgrace. They won't notice the fine points, of just how bad a thing he did. In their minds they will put him in the same category as Weinstein, et al.

As for the Republicans, they are going to try not to be noticed. And trust in tribalism to get their voters to the polls.

IF Franken had indeed done sexual harassment or abuse or assault....that would be one thing. But he didn't. That is the point. We rolled over as if he did. And that is not going to help us, it is going to majorly hurt us in the minds of the general public.

I hope to god I am wrong.

If the American public responded to a moral high ground, Donald Trump would live in Trump Tower.b Remember, he admitted....er....bragged about sexual assault. And it didn't make much difference.....
