Many other countries understand the risks associated with dependence on those, which is why most of those who've tried it have ditched them or moved to limit their use.

There are two exceptions though: Venezuela and Argentina, both of which are experiencing breakdowns in their democratic systems (one from the far left, the other from the far right).
