In reply to the discussion: Russian female punk rock band found guilty, await sentence [View all]amandabeech
(9,893 posts)27. This clearly would be pled down to to misdemeanor trespass or disorderly conduct.
I have been on the receiving end of a serious trespass in Pennsylvania that could have been charged as a class B Felony, which this would not, but that's about what these ladies would get. Personally, I think that a minor misdemanor would be plenty.
There would be no jail time, but there would be a sternly worded lecture from the court about time and place rules applying to free speech, and then a bunch of community service. An apology by the band for their failure to get a permit to demonstrate near the church would help, but might not be necessary.

What would be the sentence for the same act in the US? In most cases 2-3 years.
