(1,267 posts)16. sadly a minority view like this can win with voter apathy
as more and more citizens refuse to participate in elections because they are disgusted with the two parties, and feel like their vote no longer counts the religious right can win with unpopular views with a small minority that gets the vote out consistently. The Christian right has been very effective and is really starting to push for a total abortion ban and won't give up, where as, third party voters, and voters who drop out of the system in a way will contribute to their success
