31. No, you are wrong from jumping to conclusions again.

Never been an NRA member. If they just protected the Second Amendment, I might have joined in the past (I have been a member of the ACLU many times, and would send them $$$ again if I had them to spare...) But in recent decades, the NRA morphed into a cheerleader for abusive law enforcement and the War on (some) Drugs, while also being a mouthpiece for Republicans. Some of this is understandable, since Democrats have vacillated between being weak to truly awful on Second Amendment issues since the late 1960's, but it's still no excuse. And I value women's right to reproductive freedom, LGBTQ rights, privacy (another right where Democrats' record is mixed, but consistently better than Repubs), financial regulation (same), etc. all too much to ever willingly support Republicans at this stage.

Yes, I do believe that the NRA accepted and essentially laundered Russian money before and during the 2016 election, and I do believe that is a criminal offense. The fact that I share some measure of support for the Second Amendment with some NRA members is not enough for me to excuse or ignore this fact.
