(3,478 posts)But it is a little hypocritical to say "I don't want politics in my music" and then say "It's okay if I agree with the politics in question." You really mean the latter rather than the former, if I understand you correctly.
And no argument from me about today's Republican Party. I ought to know since I used to be one and the majority of my family still are. I watched in abject horror as Trump began his run and clinched the nomination, and then in even greater horror when he "won" the election.
The Republican Party of old is dead and gone. It used to be that they wanted what was best for the country but disagreed with the Democratic Party on how to go about achieving that. Not anymore.
That said, there are still some principled conservatives out there who haven't guzzled the Kool-Aid and jumped on the Trump bandwagon. The problem is that they're the minority in today's Republican Party.
After Trump self-destructs, whatever form that takes,I predict a split in the Republican Party when they conduct their post-mortem.
