The situation is centuries old and has resisted any mutual accommodation from the Jews, the two major war hungry Muslim sects, the Sunni and Shia, who are bitter enemies yet are united in wanting to see the destruction of Israel. Throw in the Kurds who hate all of them and you expect peace. Nope, ain't going to happen.
