34. Because once

Aug 2012

the person is born, they are apparently given their own bootstraps with which they can pull them selves up.
Once the person leaves the vagina, they are no longer persons that must be protected, but either drains on society or meat for the war grinder. They are the ruler for the dick measuring contest between world leaders who don't give a shit, and don't have to.
"Die for your country."

I listened to my parents talk to my 15 year old nephew about military service yesterday. We were talking about different paths he could take in his life. He said that he was perfectly ok with dying for his country. My mom said that military service is the ultimate love he could express for the US. I was pushing him to get into computers or automechanics, because he has a knack for both. I was horrified hearing them talk about sending him off to Afghanistan or Iran.
You're born, you have a childhood. You eat ice cream and work hard at learning something so you can make something of your life. Then you go off to a foreign country and get blown up by a cell phone bomb taking supplies to a base. Everything you did until that moment is now meaningless. Your family is given a flag and the thanks of a grateful nation, but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't mean much.

My brother went to boot camp for the Marines. This was before 9/11. Injured his shoulder jumping into some water with his pack on, so they gave him a discharge. He found out later that his unit went over to Afghanistan, and their helicopter was shot down. No survivors.
