that Trump's toadies (Pompeo, Coats, Haley, Wray, Sessions etc.) could actually convince Trump that although Russia did interfere in the 2016 election, that it had absolutely no impact on the legitimacy of Trump's "historic" victory?

Gowdy has to be one of the most ignorant, feckless Republicans in a party replete with ignorant, feckless Republicans. It's no wonder he holds a leadership position with the House Republicans who are groveling at Trump's feet, ass, and groin.
