(56,313 posts)that was a brief, happenstance meeting between the husband of someone under investigation and the attorney general at the time. the right-wing and the media went ape at the theoretical possibility that he might have somehow done something to influence the investigation. remember, bill clinton had zero official powers at the time.
now, we have a sitting president (with extensive powers) personally under investigation (not a spouse) having an arranged (not by chance), entire flight (not just a quick pop-in on the tarmac) meeting with a material witness (not the attorney general).
it was pretty far-fetched to imagine bill clinton somehow exerting control over loretta lynch, but it's not remotely difficult to imagine donnie as a rich, sitting president, who also casually and publicly destroys people's reputations on twitter daily, influencing hicks' future testimony.
but i'm guessing the media will duly note this story and quickly move on, nothing really to see here....
