Trump's appeal is not ideological or logical but psychological. It is so much like what happened in Nazi Germany. That people, "civilized" people, who thought of themselves as decent and moral could commit the most heinous crimes, crimes that no "uncivilized" native would ever imagine, and justify themselves as heroes, doing something good. Who project their worse demons onto an enemy who they feel it is their moral duty to wipe off the face of the earth.
