In reply to the discussion: Colorado baker sues state officials, claiming continued religious persecution [View all]FBaggins
(28,705 posts)41. No. He can't turn away any customers for who they are
Even in the broadest interpretation of where the court was going (they avoided it... but almost certainly would with Kavanaugh), he could turn away a black customer who ordered a BLM cake that said "white christians are the problem"... but he couldn't turn away the same customer if he ordered a cake that said "Happy Birthday".
But SCOTUS didn't even reach that far... which is probably where this case came from.

OP
The most persecuted religious people in the U.S. are white Christians, haven't you heard?

So if his "religion" allowed race discrimination, he could turn away black customers?

Oh but it is, FBaggins. It was all about WHO was buying the cake, not what was said.

SCOTUS did NOT find "previous attempts to do so amounted to religious persecution."

OFFS, no one "forced" him to go into the business of selling cakes to the public.

Probably near where it's dictated that, if someone works on Sunday, summarily execute them.
