when you're in the jury room waiting out whatever delay in the proceedings. Unless all the jurors just want to sit around and stare at each other, you have to talk about something(s) unrelated. What else is there except talk about yourself/family or work?

I'd say no. More time to contaminate the jury pool. jurors swore to do their duty.
