I think he was sought out by the head stupid person to support him . I think that the head stupid person may have called him and asked for this statement.

He doesn't have to worry about re-election for 2 years. No one will remember what he said, especially if he retires and doesn't run for reelection. This is so stupid, that it smells from coming from "Mr. Stupid in Charge" and not Inhofe himself. Only one person around is this stupid..
