(100,131 posts)...a candidate by giving them access to the name, the mailing lists, data base, and all the other associated stuff that comes with running under the umbrella of said organization. As a general rule, it is understood that candidates "share back," not hog the info (like mailing lists) they have gained. As a general rule, when one has held office a long time, a lot of reciprocity has built up.
As far as I can tell, there's no reciprocity with Bernie. By belonging to NO party, he has never felt any obligation to the Democratic Party whatsoever. He exists to scold us for not being perfect in his eyes.
Do you know the saying: "Don't bite the hand that feeds you"? Bernie bit the hand of the DNC. Why would they work with him again, knowing what they now know? He has made it clear he is not a Democrat.
There's another old saying: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Or as Dubya famously misquoted: "Fool me twice, uh, won't be fooled agin."
